Virginia Beach, Virginia: Virginia Beach has population
of over 425,000 making Virginia Beach is the most populous city in the
state of Virginia and it covers 310 square miles. It was named after
the Queen Elizabeth I, who was known as the virgin queen and it was

is a locals favorite featuring restaurants, sailing and kayaking. Back
Bay National Wildlife Refuge, First Landing State Park and False Cape
State Park entice hikers, eco-tourists and nature lovers.
Over ten golf courses dot the landscape, including TPC of Virginia Beach.
Managed by the PGA Tour, TPC is the only Tournament Players Club open
to all golfers from Maine to the Carolinas. The Virginia Beach Sportsplex,
built primarily for soccer, also hosts football, rugby and lacrosse
events.
The Virginia Marine Science Museum features more than 800,000 gallons
of aquariam, IMAX 3D movie screen, "touch-tanks" and whale-watching
trips.
Annual events in Virginia Beach include the Neptune Festival at the
oceanfront, featuring the North American Sand Sculpting Championship,
and the East Coast Surfing Championships.
